Be Strong...

Satan is working overtime, People! He is trying to make as many people as possible to stumble and fall. Once he has you down, it is so incredibly hard to break his hold and to get back up on your feet again. And sometimes, you remain weak after a fall – susceptible to further ploys of Satan.

Let’s not let Satan have any hold on us if at all possible! The stronger that we can be spiritually, the better our ability to withstand Satan’s attacks will be. There are plenty of ways that we can exercise our faith and gain strength.

Here are just a few of my favorite ways to grow and gain strength in the Spirit:

o Prayer – Tell Jesus EVERYTHING! He wants to talk with you.
o Read your Bible – How can you be a Christian if you don’t know who Christ is?
o Study the Word – Read it, consider it, meditate on it, discuss it…
o Apply what you learn – Faith without works is dead. Live what you believe.

Faith was imputed to Abraham as righteousness. I can only hope to be a friend to God as Abraham, but his example of walking and talking with the Lord is one we can all follow.

These things may not seem like much, but mighty oaks grow from a tiny acorn. May God bless your works and make them to grow and prosper. Have a blessed day!

THE END OF THE WORLD

Jesus is returning. He taught this to His disciples and it is recorded in the Bible in numerous places. Please, read the following passages inserted below for your instruction or pick up the Bible and research this matter for yourselves. Do not be deceived by false prophets nor wolves in sheep’s clothing nor the blind.

Matt.24

[1] And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
[2] And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
[3] And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
[4] And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
[5] For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
[6] And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
[7] For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
[8] All these are the beginning of sorrows.
[9] Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
[10] And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
[11] And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
[12] And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
[13] But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
[14] And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
[15] When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
[16] Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
[17] Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
[18] Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
[19] And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
[20] But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
[21] For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
[22] And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
[23] Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
[24] For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
[25] Behold, I have told you before.
[26] Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
[27] For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
[28] For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
[29] Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
[30] And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
[31] And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
[32] Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
[33] So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
[34] Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
[35] Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
[36] But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
[37] But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
[38] For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
[39] And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
[40] Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
[41] Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
[42] Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
[43] But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
[44] Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
[45] Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
[46] Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
[47] Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
[48] But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
[49] And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
[50] The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
[51] And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Mark.13

[1] And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!
[2] And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
[3] And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,
[4] Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?
[5] And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:
[6] For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
[7] And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
[8] For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
[9] But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
[10] And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
[11] But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
[12] Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
[13] And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
[14] But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
[15] And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
[16] And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.
[17] But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
[18] And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
[19] For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
[20] And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
[21] And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
[22] For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
[23] But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
[24] But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
[25] And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
[26] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
[27] And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
[28] Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:
[29] So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.
[30] Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
[31] Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
[32] But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
[33] Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
[34] For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
[35] Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
[36] Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
[37] And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Personally, I put no faith in any man. I love my brothers and sisters and I work hard to love those who despitefully use me, but we are only human and prone to sin. I placed my faith in Jesus some time ago and I look to His word for instruction.

Jesus said that NO MAN, NOT THE ANGELS, NEITHER THE SON know when the end will come. I believe Jesus. Who do you believe?

I AM STILL HERE...

Wow! I can’t believe it is May already. This year has been so hectic that time has just evaporated in a haze.

I don’t usually blog about my personal life on here. The purpose of this particular blog is to share the gospel. It isn’t for me to whine about my problems or to brag about my triumphs. However, since I haven’t blogged for the last couple of months I am going to share some of my highs and my lows. My life is my witness and testimony of God’s glory.

Let me see if I can do this in some semblance of chronological order.

• My beautiful child has a variety of medical issues and we had to spend a couple of days in the city for testing back in March. Praise God! The test turned out normal. We did a little shopping and overall had a good time.

• The next week I had to go back to the city for a conference for two days. Praise God! I learned some valuable information, visited with some interesting people, and had a safe and uneventful trip.

• The next week was Spring Break. My beautiful child had to have surgery. Praise God! She came through the surgery fine and is doing better.

• The Lord blessed me with another birthday.

• My oldest sister finally got the call for her transplant. Praise God and praying for His will! She was so excited and ready for a new lease on life.

• The transplant went ok, but complications arose. My sister was unconscious and on a ventilator and in critical condition. Praise God! He brought her through the surgery.

• I got sick at the hospital and had to go home. I couldn’t risk making my sister ill or the rest of our family. Praise God! Her daughters and husband were able to stay at the hospital with my sister the whole time. It was hard on them, but Jesus was with them.

• I was terribly ill and it turned into pneumonia. Praise God! He gave me the strength to keep going and finally brought me to a doctor who changed my medicine and I am a better now. Thank you, Jesus!

• My mother caught the same bug that made me ill. Being elderly, she just couldn’t shake it and had to be hospitalized. Praise God! She got some rest and IV medicines that helped her.

• My sister did not improve after nearly a month and finally the doctors said that they had done everything that they could. I checked Mom out of the hospital and we made the drive to the city to say goodbye. Praise God! He gave her the strength to get through this horrible heartbreak of losing another child. He blessed us with the comfort of knowing that my sister had come to know Jesus during her long illness and had prayed and left it in His hands before she went into surgery. He gave my nieces and her husband the strength and will to take care of my sister until the end.

• In all the trips to the city, being ill, and lack of sleep, Jesus kept His mighty hand upon us and was with us wherever we went. We were safe. We never got lost. We helped others find their way. I had enough vacation to cover my time off. Our church families prayed for us throughout this whole ordeal and lifted us in God’s sight. People pitched in and helped. Folks brought food, sent flowers and plants, and came to visit with Mom. An unexpected friend came and sat with me through the whole memorial service. We were just so blessed! I thank God for providing for us in this time of need when we couldn’t even think clearly.

• Our area and areas above us that drain through our area have had unusually heavy rains this spring. The levees have broken in numerous spots. Flooding has been wide spread. Roads are still closed. A multitude of people have lost their homes and most of their possessions. And most tragically many have lost their lives, including one lady that I knew and worked with. Our hearts are burdened and heavy, but God is still with us. For all the damage and tragedy, there are blessing and rays of light. Thank you Jesus! We live in the hills and our home was spared. My office was one of the very few that were not flooded on our campus. And even though they had to be evacuated, my BIL and SIL’s home that was in a badly flooded area only had a very little water damage. Praising God for His mercy and grace and praying for those who have been affected by this flooding.

This is not a comprehensive list of my highs and lows by any means, but this may give you some idea of the turmoil that has kept me from blogging recently. I hope that it highlights why we need Jesus in our lives, but in case it isn’t clear for you, I will try to explain.

First and foremost, I could never survive all that this world has to throw at me without Jesus. Before I found Him, any of these events would have ground me into the dust or driven me mad, much less all of them and more. Jesus is my rock. Jesus is my strong tower. Jesus is my life preserver. Jesus is my lifeguard.

Second, it rains on the just and on the unjust. There is not a single person on this planet that doesn’t need Jesus. It doesn’t matter how big or small, rich or poor, ill or healthy, young or old that you may be. Trials and tribulations and death come upon us all. You need to have that relationship with Jesus before trials and tribulations hit you and you need Him, because He knows those that are His. And you better be prepared to meet God, because you never know when that meeting may occur.

I pray that you will be lifted up and encouraged by the evidence of God’s mercy and grace in my life. I pray that you will want a relationship with the one, true, living God, too. And I pray that you will lift of your hands and praise Him and give thanks for all that He does with me. Have a blessed day!

An Unneccessary Reminder...

This may be an un-neccessary reminder for some, but please, take a few moments (or longer if possible) to pray for people in need. When you see someone that needs something, please, don't just walk on by and assume the next person will take care of it.

You might not be able to stop and help someone on the side of the road.

You might not be able to donate money to every worthy cause.

You might not be able to reach out to someone in person that won't listen.

You might not be able to send supplies to help the latest disaster victims.

You might not be able to adopt a starving child in Africa.

BUT YOU CAN PRAY FOR THEM!

AND GOD CAN TOUCH THEM OR THEIR SITUATION WHERE YOU AND I CAN'T.

Don't ever hesitate to pray for someone or their situation! Don't listen to Satan's lie that it won't do any good. PRAYER CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS!

God wants to hear our prayers. He wants us to seek Him. He wants us to love one another. And their is no greater show of love than to pray for someone.

Love your neighbor today; Pray for him! Who is your neighbor? Everyone...

Have a blessed day!

AN ENCOURAGING WORD...

Wow! I am so tired and it seems to be a perpetual condition anymore. It isn't just a physical exhaustion, but a mental fatigue as well. I am afraid that my batteries are just not being fully recharged like they should. Anyone else feel this way?

I'll bet that there is and I want to share with you a message that Paul shared with the Corinthians.

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 2 Corinthians 4: 8-9

Every time that I read this I remember who is there holding me up when the waves are crashing in. God loves me and doesn't want me to fail! When I seek God, everything else becomes manageable. My troubles don't disappear, but with Christ all things are possible. Those mountains just don't feel as insurmountable when I can feel God by my side.

God loves you and doesn't want you to fail either! I pray that you will seek God's kingdom and let Him lift you up today, too.

Brick By Brick....

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 2 Peter

Who says God doesn't speak to us? He is giving us some pretty clear instructions right here in 2 Peter.

Does it seem too overwhelming?

Just take it one step at a time. Add one brick at a time to your temple.

If we are faithful and diligent as God tells us to be, soon we will start to see a difference, not just in our selves, but the world around us as His light reflects from our lives into the darkenss that surrounds us.

We will never be perfect in this world, but we must strive for that which is good and righteous. Jesus gave us the example to follow. We just have to stick to the plan.

I pray God will bless your efforts daily that you may increase and glorify Him who makes all things possible. Have a blessed day!

Spring...

It is in the air. I can just barely catch the scent on the air occasionally. Spring that is; not the honeysuckles unfortunately. I am so ready! These are a few of the beautiful things that I am anxious to see again....

God is the ultimate artist! The work of His hands are incomparable.

I hope you are able to stop and smell the roses today and give thanks to Jesus for all His many blessings.

The Words of Life…

I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white rainment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore and repent.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Revelations 3:18-22

God's word is alive and so vibrant! I pray that you will take a moment (or more) to ponder God's instructions and let His Spirit lead you today. Have a beautiful day!

TRIALS ABOUND...

I am often plagued by trials and tribulations. I often lose sight of my goals. I often falter and fail. But I don't forget where my hope comes from - Jesus.

Many people believe that if you are a Christian that you have no troubles. This is a falsehood. It is, also, why so many people fall away from God and Church and their faith.

People reach out in hope, but Satan strikes out to kill that hope with troubles. If a newborn Christian doesn't understand or know the truth; then they are wounded by the apparent lack of help from God or the failure of their new faith.

The Bible tells us that we will have trials and tribulations. It says that we will be afflicted. It talks about our works being tried in the fire. It tells us that we will have to take up our cross daily. And it warns us to count the cost. Being a Christian doesn't give us a pass on the troubles of the world. Being a Christian means we have a relationship with Jesus - who is able and willing to help us.

Understand, God is faithful and full of mercy and compassion for our plight. He sent his only begotten son to offer us salvation. He sanctifies men to preserve his word. He performs miracles. He blesses his people with the Holy Spirit. His power is infinite and unimaginable. He doesn't want anyone to be lost.

What we have to remember and fix firmly in our mind, is the goal. We have heaven to gain and hell to shun. We can have an eternal life of peace in God's Kingdom or an eternal life of torment in hell.

Troubles are assuredly a part of this world. But we have help and hope with Jesus Christ.

I pray you will reach out and hold on to Jesus. Have a blessed day!

Swift Passage of Time...

WOW… Where has this year gone? I can’t believe how fast time is passing. And no, I don’t think that it is just because I am getting older. Lol.

The Bible says that God will shorten the days for the elect’s sake. I believe that we are seeing this happen; just one of those signs that everyone is so desperately seeking, but obliviously missing.

It has been a tough year. My daughter got engaged (sniff). Work has been overwhelming (sigh). A dear friend went home to the Lord (weeping). My mother’s health is slipping rapidly (more weeping). I’ve been sick again (cough). And battles aplenty scattered in between. My stress level is up all over and Satan is striving to destroy all he can.

But you know, there have been rays of light mixed in with the darkness…

o I witnessed a miracle of 33 men in Chile being rescued from a rock tomb after being buried for near 3 months.
o I survived another nasty bout with bronchitis, again.
o My baby found a man that she wants to marry.
o I am expecting my first great-great niece around my birthday next year.
o My daughter and I survived and walked away from a roll-over car wreck with minimal injuries.

I am thankful that God is faithful and always there to help us carry any burden. I love that about Him.

I pray that you will let Him help you carry those burdens, too. Have a blessed day!

Bereaved...

I lost a dear friend a few days ago. I am saddened and grieved by the loss, but I am comforted by the fact that she had a relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.

She suffered a lot pain at the end of a battle with cancer, but she continued to cry out to Jesus and pray. I can only hope to do the same when my time comes. Her family is wounded by the loss of such a dear soul. Please, take a moment to pray for them.

Her husband writes and sings songs for the Lord. One of his songs is called "Too Much To Gain To Lose". It is one that I love and is so true. We have another loved one waiting for us over there. There is less and less of interest to me in this world, but more and more in God's Kingdom that beckons to me.

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." John 3:36

I pray that the Lord will beckon each of you to share in His Kingdom. May God be with us all.

Legal vs Ethical

I chose not to jump in the middle of a nasty debate on a forum that I frequent, but thought I would post a couple of thoughts on the matter here instead of fanning flames there. Basically, the issue was whether a blogger was responsible or liable for the opinions, ideas, or actions that they promoted.

For me, the guiding line is "What would Jesus do?", but not everyone in the world is a Christian (even if they profess to be). Therefore, what do we adhere to as a society to keep order?

The law would the simplest answer in a nutshell, but it goes beyond that even. Ethics is the new by word today. And lawmakers are incorporating ethics into the law because of various scandals that have rocked the business world. They are, also, racing to address the vast new world of the Internet and all it's implications on the world that we live in. So, the law may not yet address every situation that pertains to the Internet. Blogging is probably one of those.

I was reading something that a prominent businessman said the other day. It was something to the effect that, "You have to ask your self, not only whether your actions are legal, but whether they are ethical." (I am paraphrasing.) In essence, it this right?

Well, my question is who determines what is right? Politicians? Lawmakers? Congressmen/women? Presidents? Lawyers? Voters? People? Please, exercise your right to vote whenever you have the chance. It makes a difference. *This was totally off the topic.

Back to the topic, as a blogger I try to reflect God's truth, share my own experiences, and lift others up along the way. As a person I may occasionally say or do something that isn't appropriate. I pray that God reveals my errors, shows me the correct way, and forgives me for doing wrong. I pray others will be as forgiving. This is what the Bible teaches and what I feel is right.

However, I don't believe that a blog (or anywhere really) is the place to call an individual out and stone them for their transgressions (real or imagined). I don't feel that it is the place to spew forth anger, hate, bitterness, jealousy, etc. I don't feel it is the place to humiliate, embarrass, berate, belittle, shame, or persecute anyone. I don't feel it is a place to gather a posse to validate, reinforce, and/or spread the previously mentioned ideas to the rest of the world.

Is doing so legal? Maybe/maybe not, that will be decided in a courtroom near you soon (probably).

Is doing so ethical? NO. It is NOT ethical to hurt others for your own agenda.

I am staunch supporter of the Bill of Rights. I believe in and exercise my freedom of speech all the time. I support others in their use of their God given rights. Our rights and freedoms are NOT an license to run others over. With great freedom comes great responsibility. Please, use it wisely.

VBS time again...

School is out. Summertime is here. And it is time to start planning our church's Vacation Bible School again.

This is only the second year that I have organized a VBS. If any of you have ideas or suggestions, I would love to hear from you.

I would love to see a real growth in our church from this ministry. I am praying hard for it. Please, join me in praying for all the VBS ministries.

I pray that God will richly bless all you that are working for His harvest. Have a great day!

Witness for God

I have not been posting here for some time. It is easy to fall out of the habit, I am afraid I must confess.

However, God is so good to me that I can't remain quiet very long. I am a witness for God. He is good and kind and merciful and I can't say enough good things about my Lord. He blesses me beyond measure and certainly above what I deserve.

Need examples? Ok...

My daughter and I were in a roll over vehicle accident about two weeks ago. We extricated ourselves and walked away from the wreck. Yes, we had injuries, but nothing life threatening and certainly nothing like you would expect if you saw our vehicle. I give Jesus ALL the glory for our very survival.

One of my sisters got to come home for a few days and we had such a good time during her visit. The first time in YEARS that we had really had an opportunity to talk and be together. Doesn't sound very miraculous? Well, considering all the turmoil and chaos in our lives and the facts that we live 1500 miles apart, she usually only gets to come home once a year for a day or two, I usually have to work when they do get to come, and I haven't been to visit her in about 20 years, I consider it a miracle and at the very least a great blessing. God knows what we need, whether we do or not.

I attand an awesome church. My church family is a great blessing. They have been there lifting me up in prayer and fellowship for many years. Satan has come against this church so many times, but God just keeps lifting it up, putting it back together, and making it stronger. The Holy Spirit moves amongst God's children.

I have a great job.

I have a wonderful, if unconventional, home and family.

I have a roof over my head and plenty of food on the table...

I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea. I pray that you will let Jesus light your way, too.

Have a blessed day and remember to give God the praise.

...let him hear...

"... He that hath ears to hear, let him hear." Luke 14:35

Jesus used this particular phrase many times in his teaching. I just love it!

How much do we hear in a days time? How much of it do we retain?

If you are like me, most of it goes in one ear and out the other without pause between. And a lot of it probably should never have entered to begin with.

But there are some words...teachings that we need to hold on to. We need to let them sink deep inside and take root to grow to produce fruits of the spirit. The words that Jesus taught are food for the spirit and balm for the soul; manna from above if you will.

Please, take a few moments out of your day to read a few verses from the Bible. Ponder them... Remember them... Apply them...

May God bless you with wisdom and understanding of His word. Have a blessed day!

Children...

Blame not the children for the world in which they live today. They are the innocent victims of sin and lust for youth most often. They often are merely reacting to their environment, not creating one. Meeting a child is like a breath of fresh air in a stale world.

Jesus said to allow them to come unto him and that they were like unto the kingdom of God. Let no man hinder God's children for they are the future and the promise of God to the people.

God is testing our faith and endurance in this time that we live. Do not allow the children to suffer from our iniquities, O Lord. Let them grow and prosper in your kingdom and shine with your light.

May God bless you with children in your life. Be sure to pray for the children for they walk in a perilous world.

Uplifted...

As I study the Bible, I find so many verses that uplift me; especially in Psalm. The following is one that blesses my heart.

"But let all thoses that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favor wilt thou compass him as with a shield."
Psalm 5:11-12

I pray that you will find God's word a blessing, too. May He always walk with us.

Failing hearts...

For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
--Luke 21:22-27 (KJV)

I am not a doomsday prophet, but I do not relish the prospect of people being lost and cast into hell. I am grieved at the very notion of the pain and suffering that lost souls will have to endure in the end. I am appalled at the loss of the beautiful world that the Lord has made. And I see the end approaching as has been foretold in His word. That is why I must blog on the very subject of the end of the world.

This world is going to be destroyed by fire and brimstone according to the Bible. Whether this happens today or a thousand years from today, it is already done. The BIG picture is already framed. We must accept this truth and deal with our circumstances. The small details must be added to the canvas.

I can’t save anyone no matter how much I would like to. I do not have that power or authority. It belongs to God who assumed a human form named Jesus.

God, in His human form – Jesus, walked among us and taught His truth to all who would listen. Jesus left a written record of His teaching, His instruction, His truth in the words of the New Testament of the Holy Bible. Jesus showed us that there was so much more to life than just these flesh covered bones. He died on a cross and was raised by His Holy Spirit to live again as an example to us of the life that we can have with Him. If you would have Jesus save you, please, read the Bible and learn to apply it to your life.

I do not know the hour or the day that He will return, but He is coming. I don’t know the means of the end, but I believe the words that He left for us. I am no doomsday prophet, but I preach Christ crucified, risen, and returning. I pray that each of us will be prepared and ready to meet Him joyfully, not fearfully.

May the Lord bless you with the clarity of mind to understand His word and enjoy another beautiful day!

Who knows the hour and the day?

And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is some for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe... Revelation 14:15

The harvest is great and it is upon us. The time of your harvest or mine may be any day, but there is a great harvest coming if we linger that long and we do not want to miss it. Jesus is coming back for you and me.

Are you ready?
Have you accepted Jesus?
Have you followed Jesus' examples?
Have you repented of your sins?
Have you been baptized in Jesus' name?
Have you determined to obey his teaching?
Are you seeking Jesus daily?

If you aren't, then please, please, consider the alternative. No one wants to spend an eternity in Hell in torment.

If you know the truth, Jesus is working in your life. Jesus is calling you. He is knocking. Let Him in. If you make that first step then He will walk with you the rest of your life. You will never be alone again. Jesus loves you and is trying to save you. Please, don't turn Him away.

Scripture of the Day...

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins... Ephesians 2:1

May God watch over and bless you!
